FAN OF FANS

i am officially a fan of fans in the fall. tossin' around a dusty breeze. i am also a fan of my night tonight. solitary red baron 4 cheese feast, coors (if it's not the wine-aid it's the rocky mountain water) newly acquired jazz records played atop an overall tame debate. i always forget that debates just end up being about who can get in the biggest one-liner, wasn't drunk enough. even though i totally back obama, he's still a politician and that always ends up disappointing me for whatever reason. pssh, whatever- don't really feel the need to get into all of that nonsense more than that little attempt at a rant.

my nephews are still toe-headed spazzwads. brayden climbs me like a malleable mountain, while bennet repeats "snake!" over and over. they're a blast, but i never know what kind of impressions i leave on them, but then again i never know what kind of impression i'm leaving anyone. and i know they're just lil' tykes. maybe it's just funny to think about someone else only associating you with tickle attacks, crazy faces and noogies.

it is frightening how real this song is.

I'm right here, in my fantasy world
Setting up all my toys
And making movies and songs
In my fantasy world
It's Friday night and Saturday morning
In my fantasy world
Sitting near piles of clothes and drinking a soda
With a slice of pizza, in my fantasy world
And some candy in my fantasy world
Watching videotapes and cable television
Making up characters, in my fantasy world
And they fight with each other
And they speak in funny accents
In my fantasy world
And we go out after, and get a cup
In my fantasy world
I laugh at my own jokes in my fantasy world
And wait for your dad to come home
In my fantasy world
In my fantasy world
I accidentally unplugged it in my fantasy world
And we gotta go back there,
where there's dust, behind the television
Somebody's playing with a doll in my fantasy world
In my fantasy, in my fantasy world
It's easy in my fantasy world
I am a special guy in my fantasy world

I'M BAAAAAAAAACK

so i've finally got the urge to post some bullshit on here again, mainly because i thought i'd post something i already wrote. just like me, all the benefit with none of the hassle. it's a movie review i wrote for SRO's website and it's a movie i think anyone who reads this would enjoy. oh yeah, forgot to mention the marr group draw blog. first of all, big thanks to russ for puttin' this whole thing together. born from boredom and creative minds. check it.

Shotgun Stories: If the phrase "family feud" only spurs a thought of the eternal game show with its revolving door of hosts, then you owe it to yourself to pick up Shotgun Stories. The directorial and writing debut from Little Rock native, Jeff Nichols, is a movie that operates as not only a powerful drama, but a thriller brooding with tension. Son, Boy, and Kid are three blue collared brothers that have come together after Son's separation with his girlfriend/baby mama. When Son makes a scene at their estranged father's funeral, the father's second set of sons take serious offense and set off a chain of retaliations. Unlike flashy modern Hollywood thrillers, this indie gem does a lot with a little. Characters with depth, violence without gore-sploitation and a script with genuine mid-western tone. These are the things that make Shotgun Stories unmissable.
